I started playing Table tennis with the U3A on a Wednesday afternoon at Fentons Centre, South Cerney. This group started by Jane Miller in March 2018.The centre has 3 tables complete with bats and balls available. I stopped playing after covid hit and never restarted.
Peter Watkin started an Astronomy group for the U3A and the inaugaral meeting was held at Peter’s house on 27th July 2018. We discussed the direction the group was to go in and how often to have meetings. Our first proper meeting was held on Thursday 11th October 2018 in Somerford Keynes village hall where members brought along their telescopes and binoculars to pratice setting them up. Also present were 2 members from Swindon Stargazers to give advice to members. We stepped outside and also looked at the night sky to try and recognise various stars and constellations. I stopped attending when covid hit and never returned, a lot of it was over my head.
